10 Fun Indoor Activity Date Ideas in Denver
I don’t know about you, but activity dates are my favorite. Fancy dinner dates have their place, but it’s so much more exciting to do something interactive, regardless of whether it’s a first date or a fiftieth date. If it’s a new date, I think you can learn so much about your partner through more interactive outings to find out if your chemistry matches or not, and spark atypical conversations you wouldn’t normally have over drinks or dinner. Fortunately, Denver does not disappoint when it comes to date nights, there’s truly so much fun to be had.
Don’t let the cold winter months keep you from having fun on your dates this year. Here are some Denver based date ideas that are a blast!
1. Puttshack Denver
If you love mini golf, you’re going to love Puttshack! But It’s not like traditional mini golf, every hole has a twist, making it a tad more challenging and equally more fun. What better way to bond with your date over a quirky indoor mini golf game. It’s also a great opportunity for you to show off your competitive side and learn more about each other. Not to mention, they have a full bar where you can hang out between games for a quick drink.
Don’t wait for summer time for a classic mini golf date, Puttshack is open year round making it a great indoor winter activity during the colder months. Book online ahead of time to make sure you get a spot!
2. Flight Club Denver
I think darts is a super chill date activity. Although Flight Club isn’t a typical dive bar with just a pool table and a few dart boards. This bar has revolutionized the traditional game of darts with ground-breaking technology that enables automatic scoring and runs exciting multiplayer games. Flight Club represents a mixture of old and new, blending together tradition with technology while providing guests with a menu of elevated food and drinks. Trust me, you and your date will love this super unique Denver activity.

3. Indoor Rock Climbing
Break a sweat and check out one of Denver’s many indoor rock climbing gyms. I’d recommend Movement Gyms, just because there are so many locations in the Denver metro area, but there are other rock climbing gyms as well. It’s a great way to challenge yourself, get some exercise, and see how your partner reacts to new situations. If you both are new to climbing, it can be a unique shared experience that will bring you closer together. If you’re more seasoned climbers, it’s a great way to test communication and chemistry.

4. Bierstadt Lager House
I’ve had so many fun memories at the Bierstadt Lager House. Not only is it a cool place to grab a beer, it has a Bierhall with life size yard games like corn hole, beer pong, connect four, among other things. The hall also hosts live events like live music, comedy, and trivia. It’s a great place to grab a drink with your date and have a little fun as well to spice things up. Skip the boring dinner and drinks date and go to the Bierstadt Lager House instead! You won’t regret this Denver night out.
5. Fortissimo Dueling Pianos
This recommendation and the following are for the music lovers. I was surprised at how much fun this piano bar was, not to mention the delicious cocktails. I don’t know if it’s like this every night, but when we went it was basically like a sing along bar with phenomenal pianists who were super engaging with the crowd. You do have to purchase tickets which you can do online here.
6. Nocturne Jazz Club
For those who prefer a classy date night, an evening at a jazz club is perfect. Enjoy a night of live performances with incredibly talented musicians at Nocturne. The smooth jazz accompanied with dim lighting sets the tone for a romantic evening with your significant other. The service and drinks were wonderful, and I’d recommend this Denver based jazz club to anyone. Check out their schedule online and make a reservation in advance.
I’m honestly not that into sports, but I think hockey games are so much fun. Lucky for us folks who live in and around Denver, we get to proudly cheer for the Colorado Avalanche, or Avs, Colorado’s very own NHL team. It’s a great setting to get to know your significant other better in a high energy environment. There will be lots of cheering, launching, and unforgettable moments. Tickets are fairly affordable and getting to and from Ball Arena I thought was pretty easy, making it overall a great Denver winter date night experience.
8. Denver Aquarium and Restaurant
Spend a romantic evening under the sea at Denver’s Aquarium and have dinner or drinks afterward at their very own restaurant without leaving the vicinity. If you’re someone who prefers more chill date night activities, then this is perfect for you. It’s a lot more mellow than going to a hockey game or rock climbing, which invites more opportunity for conversation as you walk around the aquarium. I think aquariums are great for dates because the dim lighting and the slow, methodical movement of marine life make for a more intimate atmosphere. There is also an unlikely land animal that calls the Denver Aquarium home. If you’re not familiar, you’re in for a surprise.
9. The Denver Cat Company (Cat Cafe)
Calling all animal lovers! I think this would be such a cute first date idea (unless you’re allergic to cats). It’s a step up from just a regular coffee date, since you get to play with all of the adorable cats! My partner and I had such a good time and would recommend it to anyone. There is an entrance fee, which goes toward the care of the cats, on top of any beverages you buy. Afterwards, you can walk up and down Tennyson St. where there are so many restaurants, bars, and other local shops to explore, giving you the opportunity to get to know your date a little better.
10. The Punch Bowl Social
Still can’t decide what kind of activity date you want to go on? Well the Punch Bowl Social has it all - bowling, karaoke, ping-pong, AND an arcade. It’s another great date spot because there are so many fun games to choose from and it has three full bars and a kitchen for when you get hungry. You and your date will inevitably find something that you both enjoy and have a night to remember.
I hope this helps you plan your next date night in Denver!
