After any kind of workout, you body needs a yummy, carb heavy meal. I’ve got you covered. Here are some of the best restaurants in Golden after a hike when you’re craving a hearty meal.
1. Bonfire Burritos

Hours: 7AM-3PM
Why it’s the best after a hike: Theses burritos are so filling - eggs, hashbrowns, meat, wrapped up in a toasty tortilla, can’t go wrong with that. Quality ingredients that will give your body the calories you need post-hike. The Burro is my favorite!
Atmosphere: Very upbeat atmosphere (the music is always bumpin’!), and the staff are so friendly. The interior is very casual and it’s totally normal to roll up in your hiking gear.
2. Denver Biscuit Company
Location: 1100 Washington Ave Suite 102, Golden, CO 80401
Hours: M-F until 2PM, S-S until 3PM
Why it’s the best after a hike: This is carbo-loading to the max! They have the fluffiest biscuits and giant cinnamon rolls that are to die for. Stop by for a sweet or savory brunch after your adventure outdoors.
Atmosphere: Industrial, brick interior. Very home-y and laidback.
3. Peak Donuts

Hours: 6:30AM-12:30PM, closed Monday.
Why it’s the best after a hike: If you’re craving something sweet, I’d recommend stopping by Peak Donuts for a sugary treat. They have all of the classic donuts you would want - glazed, frosted, cream filled, and fritters. You could also stop by before your hike, since they open at 6:30AM.
Atmosphere: Not a dine in restaurant, walk in only.

Why it’s the best after a hike: Sometimes a classic diner meal hits the spot after exploring some trails. The Golden Diner is that place. They have all of the traditional diner meals you crave with a local twist on some dishes as well.

5. Las Palmas 1

Hours: Sunday-Thursday 6:30AM-3PM, F-S 6:30AM-7:30PM
Why it’s the best after a hike: There is nothing better than a hearty burrito with authentic Mexican flavor profile. This is the best bang for your buck right here. These burritos are huge! Your body will thank you after eating here.
Atmosphere: Small, family owned restaurant with very friendly staff.
6. Bob’s Atomic Burgers

Why it’s the best after a hike: A nice, juicy burger with a side of fries is arguably the best post-hike meal. It gives you all the protein and carbs you need after working up a sweat. Bob’s Atomic Burgers has all that and is a local favorite for so many.
Atmosphere: Hipster, super casual burger joint with plenty of outdoor seating which is nice option if you’re fresh off of the trails.
7. Snarf’s Sandwiches
Location: 1301 Washington Ave #110, Golden, CO 80401
Hours: 10AM-7PM
Why it’s the best after a hike: If you’re not a burger person, then sub sandwiches stacked with your favorite deli meats and veggies are a great alternative. Located in the heart of downtown Golden, Snarf’s, a Colorado sandwich chain, has all your sub favorites. Great option if you’re super hungry and don’t want to wait to be served.
Atmosphere: Casual, spunky sandwich shop. Speedy service.
8. Woody’s Woodfired Pizza
Location: 1305 Washington Ave, Golden, CO 80401

Why it’s the best after a hike: All you can eat pizza, salad, and beer cheese soup buffet for only $16. Need I say more? Woody’s is a great touristy restaurant if your stomach feels like a bottomless pit. They have some unique pizza toppings like cheeseburger and buffalo chicken which is what I like most about this place.

Why it’s the best after a hike: This is probably one of the most popular restaurants in Golden. They have five different restaurants to choose from, since it’s a food hall, and a draft beer wall to reward yourself after your hike. Try a little bit of everything if you’re feeling up to it! Great place to unwind after a long day outdoors.
Atmosphere: Modern, energizing food hall with excellent indoor, outdoor, and rooftop seating. Great views of Clear Creek and South Table Mountain.
10. Seasoned Swine BBQ

Hours: Wed-Sat 11AM-9PM, Sun-Tues 11AM-8PM
Why it’s the best after a hike: If you’re craving some high protein bites, BBQ might be the move for you. Pulled pork, brisket, ribs, plus all of the classic sides like mac and cheese and potato salad, can’t go wrong with any of those options.
